Review: The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley

*I received a free e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

The Hunting Party takes place over the New Year period, as a group of nine friends head to a remote Scottish hunting lodge to ring in the new year, but before the sun rises one of them is dead. The story alternates between several different points of view, and each character has a distinctive voice that makes them easy to identify. Some of the characters were a little cliche but they were still interesting. Hearing the story from the view point of multiple characters means you’re constantly second guessing who you think the killer is as you learn the carefully guarded secrets of each character. There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me turning the page to find out who the real killer was and their motives. The cold and remote setting really added an extra layer of tension to the whole story. It was a fun little thriller perfect for winter reading.

Rating: 3 / 5 stars.

The Hunting Party will be released on January 24th. Support your local indie bookstore (and me!) by buying The Hunting Party from Hive.co.uk.
