Six For Sunday: Recent additions to my TBR

Six For Sunday is a weekly blog series created by Steph @ ALittleButALot. Prompts for April, May, and June 2020 are now up, and today’s prompt is Recent additions to my TBR. I mentioned in my last Stacking the Shelves post that I was saving some of my new TBR additions for this edition of Six For Sunday. In March’s Stacking the Shelves, I shared the four books and a series that I added to my ‘maybe TBR’, saving my three new additions to my physical bookshelf for this post, so here they are, along with three more recent additions!

Everybody Died, So I Got a Dog by Emily Dean

I saw this on my work’s book swap shelf and remembered Katherine Ryan talking about it a lot when it first came out – I think she’s friends with the author – so I thought I’d pick it up. I’m not rushing to read it but we’ll see!

Rapture by Carol Ann Duffy

Again, found at work. I love Duffy’s poetry but I haven’t read this collection so I’m excited to discover some new favourites.

The Mars Room by Rachel Kushner

I was so pleased to find this at work because I really needed a book beginning with ‘M’ for a Magical Readathon prompt and I didn’t have any!

The Overstory by Richard Powers

The first book I picked up from my work’s book swap shelf was a pristine hardback copy of The Overstory, which I talked a bit more about in a previous Stacking the Shelves post.

Autumn by Ali Smith

This was an impromptu buy from an enormous secondhand bookstore near my parents’ house, and I talked a bit more about it here.

By Order of the Peaky Blinders by Matt Allen

A gift from my parents at Christmas, I might crack this open soon to console myself about the news that season six filming was post-poned thanks to COVID-19.

Do you have any of these on your TBR?
Or have you read any already?
