Six For Sunday: Series I want to read

Six For Sunday is a weekly blog series created by Steph @ ALittleButALot. Prompts for April, May, and June 2020 are now up, and May’s prompts are all about series! Today I’m sharing six series that I want to read. As I’m not a big reader of series, I’m also including those I want to continue as well as start from the beginning.

The Thomas Cromwell series by Hilary Mantel

I’m a lot more interested in historical fiction than I used to be and I’ve heard amazing things about this series, especially since the final installment came out.

The Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers

The first book in this series, The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, has had nothing but rave reviews from fellow bloggers so I can’t wait to see what the hype is about and hopefully find myself a new sci-fi series.

The Dune series by Frank Herbert

I’m not sure if I will read this whole series, but I definitely want to read Dune before the film adaptation comes out. I also love these covers!

The Silo series by Hugh Howey

I’ve already read the first book, Wool, and I really enjoyed it but I wasn’t desperate to read the next book, Shift. I’ve since acquired a copy somehow so I’m definitely planning on dipping back into this series at some point.

The Book of Dust series by Philip Pullman

Another series I’ve started but not continued. I was so hyped to get the second book, The Secret Commonwealth – I bought it the day it came out – but I just haven’t picked it up yet!

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

I’ve already read Harry Potter, multiple times, but I’m tempted by a re-read. I think many of us turn to this series when life is a bit rough, and I’m definitely on the cusp of picking it up again, especially since I’ve been in a bit of a slump since April.

Which series are you itching to read?

  1. The Silo series is one of my favorites! I read it probably back in 2012 or 2013 and reread it again recently. I also adore the Wayfarers series, although I still need to read the third. I hope you love all of these when you do get around to them. 🙂

      1. totally relate!! i was in such a major slump until a few weeks ago. i’m finally able to lean into the escapism of reading, but it was so hard to focus for a couple months there!
